Sure, the other guys may promise "$1 down" to start, but they can't beat the $10-a-month gym membership from Planet Fitness (324 S. State St. in Salt Lake City; 801-521-9400; www.planetfitness.com). I must tell you that I'm a member, and there truly are no hidden fees -- the basic package is honestly just $10 a month (plus tax). Plus, the updated gym sits right in the heart of downtown, and offers all the amenities (tanning, cardio, weight training) of more expensive gyms (short of a pool and spa), with the welcome bonus of free personal training. (AC)
Even though UV rays are a big no-no for your skin's health, we have a hard time saying no to Hollywood Tan's (283 E. 3300 South in Salt Lake City; 801-463-9800; www.myspace.com/hollywoodtanslc) $3 Thursdays. Yep, just three bucks to "tan your can" in a wolff or platinum bed. If you're more of a spray-tanning kind of cat, Hollywood Tan offers packages starting at $26. (AC)
Sign up at Got Beauty (904 E. 2100 South in Salt Lake City, UT in Salt Lake City; 801-474-2090) to get on their e-mail list, which makes you privy to the salon and boutique's monthly specials. Last month, Got Beauty gave people on their mailing list a 20 percent off coupon, and an invite to their $9 shoe and clothing sale. This month? Check this out: A free haircut with any color service, as advertised in IN. (AC)

But that's not all, they also offer $10 eyelash tinting, $12 eyebrow tint- and shaping, and $35 hot-stone facials. (AC)

While your average manicure in a salon tends to run about $20, Sky Nails offers them for only $12. (719 E. 2100 South, 801-466-3677). (KA)
