1. Before applying any color, Splendor sales associate Michelle Paramore says prime, prime, prime. "Primers even out your skin tone and allow makeup to last all day," she says. So for those looking to cover up pores or fine-line wrinkles, snag a primer that will create a smooth canvas. 2. It's time to go ga-ga for glitter as the holiday season ushers in metallic eyeshadows fit to make snow jealous with their glisten. Paramore reccomends Laura Mercier's Metallic Créme Eye Colour in gold and burnished copper to create a sultry, sparkly stare. And wink at that cute guy all you want; when applied on top of primer, your shimmering color will stay put all day.

3. "Lip stains are perfect for cocktail parties, because they don't smear, and make it so you don't have to keep re-applying," says Paramore. To apply a lip stain, first moisturize and put on a primer. Then, dab your finger in the pot and pat your pout evenly. Finally, sip that martini and kiss your co-worker with confidence knowing your lip color's not going anywhere.
