Vegan Thanksgiving Dinner This Sunday Benefits Animal Sanctuary
Posted 2009-11-06 10:44:43 by Amanda Chamberlain
Want to walk on the vegan side this Thanksgiving? Whether you're vegan or a meat-eater seeking a change, stop by the Ching Farm Vegan Thanksgiving Dinner this Sunday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. Marking it's 12th year, the dinner benefits the Ching Farm Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Riverton, which advocates, rescues and shelters farm animals. In addition to tons of belly-filling fare, vegan bodybuilder and author Robert Cheeke will speak about his upcoming book (Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness: The Complete Guide to Building Your Body on a Plant Based Diet), and a silent auction will help raise funds to get the animals through the winter.

This feel-good food event costs $20 per person; $10 for kids 12 and under. Get $1 off with a donation of a blanket for the pigs at the sanctuary. Reserve your spot by registering online at chingsanctuary.org or buying tickets from City Dogs (300 S. 200 East in Salt Lake City). The dinner will be held at the Sugarhouse Park Garden Center at 1602 E. 2100 South (north-east end of the park).
