This week's cover story shows you how to scream till Halloween. But what if you want to laugh? Wiseguys Trolley Square has booked a month of special acts to make it possible, and have you saying everything but "boo."

Vincent Lords Presents Supernatural » From laying on glass shards to convincing entranced audience members to sing and dance, Vincent Lords remains Utah's go-to man for mystery. The "comedy hypnotist," who was once buried alive for nine days as part of a stunt, will give his act an eerie edge during "Supernatural," a supernatural demonstration/hypnotism show happening every weekend in October. Lords promises his spook-slanted show will include real magic, ghosts, unexplained mysteries, and even a mass levitation experiment he says has never been done before. Bring $10 for your ticket, but leave your disbelief at home!

Emmett Montgomery » Born and raised in Utah Valley, this Seattle-based comic is stoked to headline in his home state this month. Montgomery says that although he's performed in Utah before, this will be his "first big show" in his hometown. The man of many stage characters has been doing stand-up for five years, writes for several live comedy shows and is even one of the founders of The People's Republic of Komedy comedy collective. Despite all this, he's still a little nervous to spiel in front of his old peeps. Show him a warm welcome as he returns to the salt lick on Oct. 22 to make you laugh with his jokes and comedic short films. And just a warning, he might have some of his senial paper bag puppets for sale.

Christopher Stephenson and ToySoup present Sketchophrenia » After a few soft openings, the new comedy variety show Sketchophrenia will hit the small stage in full force over Halloween weekend. The show combines stand-up comedy with improv and short film via its creators/stars ToySoup, an improv duo consisting of scene veterans Andrew Jensen and Troy Taylor, and Christopher Stephenson, whose Steve Martin-on-depressants dark comedy will have you wondering if it's okay to laugh. During their Halloweekend debut, the trio will also debut its new Web series called "Omerta," which comes with significant hype considering their short film "Coffee Connection" just won Critics' Choice at the Tower's Open Screen night. So whether you're a fan of stand-up or improv, this will be the one time its okay to mix your poisons.

Just a little typo... it's Coffee Connection. Not Comedy Connections. HAHA. Either way you should check out this short film! We still love you Amanda Chamberlain!
